Planer voices him like a befuddled teenager who's always trying to please. His makes Colon sound like a sniveling would-be mugger, whereas Brigg' voices him like the pompous older windbag he really is. Planer, on the other hand, voices Detritus like a scratchy voiced lower level street thief. The way Briggs voices Detritus classic diplomatic response, "It's so kind when people take the time to fink about these things" gets to the essence of the troll. Briggs voices him as kind of a big, "percussion-voiced" ox who is trying to hide his innate intelligence and irony under a veneer of 'fickness.' The best example of this I can point out is in Snuff when he is responding to the Koom Valley's socialite's statement that she's cleaned out the stables for Brick and Detritus. While I think Planer does the witches better, I think Brigg's Detritus is far better than Planer's. Learn more about your trial membership at Ĭlick to expand. It's funny how subjective this is.
